Who makes Odakla?

Odakla is Studio Dual's first product, and for now Studio Dual is one person: me, Muhammet Nihat Mesut. This page explains why I built Odakla, the principles behind it, and how to reach me.

In short

Odakla ("focus on it" in Turkish) is a free Pomodoro and focus timer made in Türkiye and published by Studio Dual, a one-person software studio founded in 2026 by Muhammet Nihat Mesut. It runs in the browser (odakla.app) and on Windows (Microsoft Store). Core features are free, with no ads and no third-party tracking cookies.

Why Odakla?

When I looked for a focus timer, most of the apps I found were in English, paid, or full of ads. Some had a good timer but didn't track time per subject; others added notifications and ads that made distraction worse instead of better.

I wanted something simple, free, in Turkish, and honest about how much I actually focused. When I couldn't find it, I decided to build it. Odakla grew out of that need.

Principles

  • Core features stay free. The timer, stats, streaks and focusing with friends need no subscription.
  • No ads, no tracking. Odakla uses no ad networks, third-party analytics or tracking cookies. Details in the privacy policy.
  • Your data is yours. You can use it as a guest without an account. With an account you can export your data (CSV/PDF) and delete your account in Settings.
  • Real minutes count. Streaks and points are tied to time you actually focused, not to opening the app.
  • Turkish first. The app opens in Turkish by default and is designed with exam students (YKS, KPSS, LGS) in mind, with a full English option.

So far

  • Web app: at odakla.app, works in any modern browser including on phones.
  • Windows app: on the Microsoft Store since October 2026.
  • Browser extension: for Chrome and Edge, blocks the sites you choose during a focus round.
  • Releases: desktop releases are published on GitHub.
  • Android: in preparation.

How the blog is written

The posts on the Odakla Blog are practical guides on focus, studying and habits. They link to the research and official sources they mention, and every post shows its publish and update dates. I'm not a psychologist or education counselor; the advice is general information. If you spot a mistake, write to me and I'll fix it.
